Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie Bowl

Smoothies are one of the most simple, easy, and quick ways to get in a ton of nutrients on the go. This recipe is packed with antioxidants to fight inflammation and keep you feeling your best. 


Some of the superpowers in this recipe are -

Blueberries have some of the highest concentrations of antioxidants of common foods. The primary antioxidant found in blueberries comes from flavonoids which help decrease inflammation in the body and fight signs of aging. 1 cup has only 85 calories and is high in vitamin C, vitamin K, manganese, and fiber.

Blackberries are also high in antioxidants and are packed with vitamin C. Vitamin C helps the body form and maintain connective tissue like skin and bones. 1 cup of blackberries has only 60 calories and 8 grams of fiber.

Walnuts are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids that promote heart health. Eating the correct portions of these fats help keep you feeling full and fights inflammation.

Spinach is an extremely nutrient dense vegetable full of vitamin K, vitamin A, manganese, and folate. It helps prevent chronic illnesses like cancer and fights inflammation.



Ingredients:

1 frozen banana

1 cup frozen blueberries

1 cup frozen blackberries

1.5-2 cups unsweetened milk of choice like almond or coconut

1/3 cup walnuts

½ cup spinach

Optional toppings:

Shredded coconut

Nuts like walnuts or almonds

Grain-free granola

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender. Blend on high until completely combined.

  2. Serve in a bowl with desired toppings.

  3. Enjoy!
